Forensic Science I Grades 11-12 / ½Credit / Course Fee $35.00

This class will delve into the exciting sciences involved in forensic investigation. Students will learn the many techniques that detectives, medical examiners, and forensic lab technicians use to solve criminal investigations and unsolved cases. The sciences involved will include such topics as the history of forensics, types of forensic sciences, hair and fiber analysis, examination of impression evidence (fingerprints, bite marks, tire tracks, lip impressions, and shoe prints) as well as document examination. Prerequisite: Biology or Honors Biology

Forensic Science II Grades 11-12 / ½Credit / Course Fee $25.00

This class will continue to delve into the many exciting sciences involved in forensic investigation. Students will be given the opportunity to observe and participate in mock crime scene investigations. They will learn the many techniques that detectives, medical examiners, and forensic lab technicians use to solve criminal and unsolved mysteries. The sciences involved will include such topics as serology, ballistics, toxicology, pathology, entomology, anthropology, behavioral sciences, engineering and many other crime scene techniques. Prerequisite: Received credit for Forensic Science I
